Ingredients

15 minute
4 servings
  • 3/4 cupwhole moong dal (with skin on)-
  • 3/4 cup Whole Urad Dal –
  • 1/2 cup Rice Rava (homemade) –
  • 1 handful raw rice
  • to taste Salt
  • Tempering:
  • 1 tsp Coconut Oil –
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds –
  • 1/2 tsp Grated ginger –
  • 1/2 tsp Chopped green chillies/ground pepper –

Steps

  1. 1

    1 Firstly we have to wash the moong dal and rice in deep water and then soak it in water in a large bowl for 3 to 4 hours.

  2. 2

    2 After 3 to 4 hours grind it in an electric mixer and make a smooth idli batter.

  3. 3

    3 Now add Rava in it and mix well till well combined and leave it overnight.

  4. 4

    4 The next morning beat the batter and add a pinch of salt and mix well.

  5. 5

    5 Grease with butter idli plates.

  6. 6

    6 Take a skillet over medium-high heat and add coconut oil in it and add ½ teaspoon mustard seeds, ½ teaspoon Grated ginger, chopped chilies, and ½ teaspoon ground pepper and sauté well till well combined.

  7. 7

    7 Now add this mixture into the batter.

  8. 8

    8 Now we have to pour the batter into the idli plates.

  9. 9

    9 We have to steam it for 10 to 15 minutes.

    10 Serve hot
