Ingredients

20 minutes
4 servings
  1. 3Potatoes (boiled, peeled and cut in cubes)
    Masala Aloo Bhindi
  2. 1 cupPeas (boiled and cooled)
    Winter Special Cauliflower and Peas Subji (Gobhi Mutter Subji)
  3. 2 tablespoonsGhee or coconut oil
    Jaggery Halwa
  4. 1 tspMustard seeds
  5. 1 tspChana dal
  6. 1 tspUrad daal
  7. 1/2 tspHing/ asafoetida
  8. 1Chopped onion medium
  9. 1 tspGinger grated
  10. 2Red dry chillies
  11. 10Curry leaves
  12. 1 tspTurmeric powder
  13. 1.5 tspChilli powder
  14. 1 tspCoriander powder
  15. as per tasteSalt
  16. 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  17. 1 tbsp Chopped coriander leaves
  18. as neededHot water

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    First, heat a kadhai and add oil. When it heats up add mustard seeds.

  2. 2

    When they pop up, add the Chana and urad daals, hing, curry leaves, broken red dry chillies and sute well.

    Then add the onion, ginger and fry till aromatic. Then add in the spice powders and mix well.

  4. 4

    Then add the peas, mix well, cover and cook with a sprinlkle of water for 5 minutes to absorb the spices.

    Then add in the potatoes, salt and more spices if needed and mix well. Sprinkle some more water, cover and cook further for 5 minutes.

  6. 6

    Then switch off flame, add in lemon juice and mix well. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with Dosa, Chapati, Plain rice, Puri or Paratha. It tastes yummy with everything. Enjoy.
