Ingredients

  1. 500 gmPatal peel and cut into two pieces
  2. 1large potato peel and cut into large cubes
  3. 100 gramsmug dal
  4. 5 tablespoonsmustard oil
  5. 1/4 teaspoonwhole cumin seeds,
  6. 1 dried chilli,
  7. 1 bay leaf
  8. 1large onion cut into slices
  9. 1 tablespoonginger garlic paste
  10. 1large tomato paste
  11. 1 teaspoonturmeric powder
  12. 1 teaspoonchilli powder
  13. 1/2 teaspooncoriander powder
  14. to tasteSalt
  15. 1/2 teaspoonsugar
  16. 1/2 teaspoonroasted cumin powder
  17. 2 tablespoonschopped coriander leaves
  18. as neededWater

  1. 1

    In a dry pan, fry the mug dal till light brown.

  2. 2

    Now fry the bay leaves, dried chilli and whole cumin in that oil for 20 seconds.
    After 20 seconds, fry with potatoes and patal.

    When the potatoes are light brown in color, fry them with sliced onion for 5 more minutes, add ginger garlic paste, tomato paste and fry for a while more. Add salt, sugar, turmeric powder, chilli powder and coriander powder to taste. Will be
