On the occasion of Janmashtami. Birthday of Lord Krishna. I prepared delicious Mathura Peda with instant Mawa.
Mathura Peda is the classic North Indian sweet prepared with roasted Mawa and sugar powder, flavoured with cardamom powder, and nutmeg powder, and coated with castor sugar.

Mathura Peda is the classic North Indian sweet prepared with roasted Mawa and sugar powder, flavoured with cardamom powder, and nutmeg powder, and coated with castor sugar.

In non-stick pan add milk powder and cow milk. Mix well. Add cow ghee, cook on low flame and stirring constantly make mawa/khoya.

Continue stirring constantly on low flame till mawa resembles dry crumbs like mixture.

Stirring constantly on low flame make dark brown in colour mixture. Cool and grind in a mixer to make a smooth powder. Cool to room temperature.

Add 1 tbsp of milk at a time to the roasted mawa mixture. Bind and knead into dough.

On a small plate spread castor sugar powder. From prepared sweet mawa dough take little portion, and give the shape of a round peda. Coat each peda with castor sugar powder as shown.

Serve Delicious Classic North Indian sweets. Mathura Peda as Prasad.
