Hot chocolate is a comforting and delicious hot beverage which can be relished during winters or rainy season. Homemade hot chocolate is far better than the readymade hot chocolate packets or the hot chocolate which we have outside. Making hot chocolate at home is really easy and quick.

First of all add milk, cocoa powder, cinnamon stick and sugar to a pot and whisk well. Now start heating it on the medium heat.

When it is about to boil, add dark chocolate pieces to it and keep on stirring continuously so that it does not stick to the bottom of the pot. When chocolate melts completely, turn off the heat. You do not have to boil the milk. Now add vanilla essence to it and give it a good mix.

Serve hot chocolate garnished with whipped cream or marshmallow or Chocolate sauce.
