Kozhukattai, although usually sweet, can sometimes be stuffed with a savory filling. It is prepared by Kerala Christians on the Saturday prior to Palm Sunday and the day is hence called Kozhukatta Saturday. Modak is a similar dish made in other parts of India. This is a popular dish prepared during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.Here is the another version of pal kolukkattai recipe. I have use palm jaggery . It is yummy and delicious. Heat one cup of water until it bubbles. Sieve the flour and place it in a mixing bowl and add salt mix it well then add the heated water to it and mix well. Make dough consistency. The dough is ready.

In the meantime take the grated palm jaggery along with 1 cup of water and melted it. Then filtered jaggery and transfer into the pan and add 2cup thin coconut milk until it boils.(until bubbles rise.

Take the small piece of dough and roll it out into small balls and cylinder shapes.

When the jaggery and coconut milk mixture starts to boil drop these rice balls one by one &cook on medium flame till all the balls float on top.

Next, reduce the heat and add thick coconut milk, shredded coconut, cardamom 1/4 tsp salt, and rice flour slurry and mix it well. Cook this mixture for five minutes.

Turn off the flame. Serve this pal kolukkattai hot or warm enjoy.
