Happy Onam to all! Happy Anant Chaturdashi to all!
Onam is celebrated all across Kerala to welcome king Mahabali on the earth! The Onam feast is called Sadhya and it has lota of sweet and savoury delicacies. Also on the day of Ganesha visarjan, we prepare so many recipes to see off Bappa when he leaves for his home! I have prepared this payasam using sevai and cherries. Kids love it!

Steps

First, slow roast the vermicelli and chopped cashews till light golden.

Then add 1/2 cup regular water and cook covered till soft. Then add sugar, cherries and cook for 2 minutes.

Then mix cornflour in coconut milk and add it. Stir cook on low heat till thick. Remove before boiling.

Cool completely. Garnish with cherries and serve ! Happy Onam! Ganapati bappa morya 🙏🙏
