German Potato & Sausages

I discovered this dish, that was known as ‘German Potato’ in Japan, when I was a uni student, and it was decades ago. It is still very popular as ‘German Potato’. I wonder what German people think about this naming of the dish. I know there is a German salad that looks like this dish, but I don’t add Vinegar OR Mayonnaise to this dish. I use Wholegrain Mustard, Salt and Pepper only. That’s what I learned. And you should know that this dish is really good to enjoy with cold beer.
