Garlic is an ingredient that I can’t cook without! It’s present in almost everything I cook, and I always add “one more clove”!

This Toum recipe goes perfectly with roasted or grilled chicken. We never eat chicken without garlic paste! This paste is specifically Chicken Shawarma’s best friend! ♥️

There are many ways to make toum paste, some have eggs and others don’t. This has been my favourite so far!

Ingredients

30 minutes
  1. 1 cuplukewarm water
  2. 1/2 cupcornstarch
  3. 5garlic cloves
  4. 1/4 cupvegetable oil
  5. 1 teaspoonsalt (or less)
  6. Juice of one lemon
  7. 5-6garlic cloves, peeled
  8. 5-6 cubesice

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    In a saucepan, start by mixing one cup of water with 1/2 cup corn start. Put on medium heat, keep stirring continuously until you get a very thick paste, like a dough. ✋Set aside and let the mixture cool down completely!!

  2. 2

    Once the cornstarch paste has cooled down completely, add to a food processor with all the other ingredients. Blend until the mixture is very smooth and soft. That’s it!
