Ingredients

  1. First Marination
  2. 15Jumbo Prawns (Shelled and Deveined)
  3. 1/4 tspTurmeric Powder
  4. 1/2 tspSalt
  5. Second Marination
  6. 1/2 tspGinger Garlic Paste
  7. 3/4 tspBlack Pepper Powder
  8. 1/2 tspDark Soy Sauce
  9. 2 tbspAll-purpose Flour (Maida)
  10. 2 1/2 tbspCornflour
  11. 1Egg (Whisked)
  12. As RequiredOil (For Deep Frying)
  13. As Required Sauce Mix
  14. 2 tspDark Soy Sauce
  15. 2 tbspRed Chilli Sauce
  16. 1 tspChilli Vinegar
  17. As required Cornflour Slurry
  18. 2 tspCornflour
  19. 2-3 tbspWater
  20. Other Ingredients
  21. 2-3 tbspOil
  22. 3 tspGarlic (Finely Chopped)
  23. 1 tspGinger (Finely Chopped)
  24. 3-4Dried Red Chillies
  25. 6Green Chillies (Halved)
  26. 2Spring Onions
  27. 1 cupOnion Petals
  28. HalfLarge Red Bell Pepper (Cubed)
  29. HalfLarge Yellow Bell Pepper (Cubed)
  30. HalfLarge Green Bell Pepper (Cubed)
  31. As Per Taste Salt (Pinch)

Steps

    Firstly, in a large mixing bowl, add the prawns, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix it well and set it aside to marinate for 15 minutes.

    After the set marination time, add ginger garlic paste, black pepper powder, dark soy sauce, all-purpose flour, cornflour, and the whisked egg. Mix well to coat the prawns.

    Chop and assemble all the required ingredients.

    To prepare the sauce mix: In a small bowl, add the dark soy sauce, red chili sauce, and chili vinegar. Mix it well and set it aside.

    To make the cornflour slurry: In a small bowl, add cornflour and water. Mix it well and set it aside.

    Now for Deep Frying the Prawns: Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Gently drop the coated prawns in medium-hot oil. Do not disturb it for half a minute. Fry till golden and crisp.

    Remove the fried prawns on a kitchen towel to drain away the excess oil.

    Now everything is ready to start the making of Chilli Garlic Prawns: Heat oil in a large Kadai/wok. Add the chopped garlic and ginger and stir fry on high heat for 15 seconds. Next, add the dried red chilies, halved green chilies, and only the white part of the spring onions. Stir fry on high heat for 15 seconds. Then add the onion petals and the cubed red, yellow, and green bell peppers.

    Add a pinch of salt and stir fry on high heat for a minute. Then add the fried prawns and stir fry on high heat for half a minute. Next, add the sauce mix and stir fry on high heat for a minute.

    Lastly, add the cornflour slurry and stir fry on high heat for a minute. Garnish with the chopped green part of spring onions and stir fry on high heat for 15 seconds.
