It was the way my grandma made her pie and taught me how to make it. Forever tasting a piece of home with every bite.

Ingredients

6+ people
  1. 6honey crisp apples
  2. 1 cupSugar
  3. 1/2-1 cupBrown sugar
  4. 3-4 tspCinnamon spice
  5. 2Pie crusts - pillsbury (I use the 2pk box)
  6. 2 tspVanilla extract

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Peel, rinse with water, then slice up your apples. I cut up my apples on the thinner side.

  2. 2

I then add all the apple slices to a mixing bowl. (Preheat oven to 400)

  3. 3

I add around 1 cup of sugar, half cup brown sugar, and about 3-4 good heavy dashes of cinnamon. 2-3 tsp vanilla extract. Mix.

  4. 4

Spray pie pan with baking spray. Then lay the pie crust in the pan. (I get the pack with two so I have one for bottom and top crusts)

  5. 5

Pour the apples into the pie crust that is in the pie pan.

  6. 6

Lay the other pie crust on top of the apples. Slit a couple slits on top. Pinch the top and side crusts together. (I sprinkle the top with cinnamon & sugar)

  7. 7

Put the pie in the oven for 45 minutes at 400 degrees.
(You may add tin foil to the edges for the first 15-20 if you like. But I do not do this.)

  8. 8

    Wa-lah
