Palak gosht

This is my mother’s recipe which is different and unique from mine and I tries it for the first time by myself. I always make chicken palak with chapati but this time I took this challenge and made palak gosht. Called amma and asked how she make it. I want to try it at my home also. Another reason to give it a try is now a day, My mother in law is on light spice food and this recipe is not made with a lot of spice and oil. Well, I made it and she loved it too and asked me to keep it for her for the next day. My husband commented that it’s delicious and different from the normal curries and shorba so he also likes it. My girl was making faces but then she also had it so from now this is a new addition to my menu. ☺️ #matchmaker

Steps
- 1
I took a cooker and pour oil and heat it up. Meanwhile, chopped onions and put it into that hot oil.
- 2
Start frying and make it soft and pink. Add dry condiments (cloves, black pepper and cinnamon stick) add ginger garlic paste and mix.
- 3
After frying, add chopped tomatoes.
- 4
Put 2 tbs of chopped green chilli, salt and turmeric powder. Mix it well.
- 5
Add meat and fry again for 5 mins and pour 2 glasses of water and give pressure or to cover. Until it meat turns soft and tender.
- 6
Meanwhile, Wash spinach properly and chopped it. Uncover the pot and add potatoes now.
- 7
And then add chopped spinach. Mix it well and cook for 10-15 mins.
- 8
Once potato and spinach fully cooked and mixed. Put 3-4 whole green chillies and make the flame low for 5 minutes. The curry is ready to serve. This curry is like a soup with less spices.
- 9
Served with zeera rice, salad and papar.
