Chicken Alfredo Bake

Layers of pasta, cheese, alfredo sauce and grilled chicken. A family favorite for a rich, hearty, casserole dish.

Ingredients

4 to 6 servings
  1. 1-1.5 jarsyour favorite alfredo sauce
  2. 1-2large chicken breasts
  3. 1.5 cupsparmesan cheese or more if desired
  4. 1 lbpenne or fusili pasta
  5. Oil or butter for pan frying
  6. Salt, pepper, garlic to taste for seasoning the chicken

    Boil water for pasta; when ready add pasta and cook til al dente. Drain but do not rinse pasta.
    At this time also preheat oven to 350 F

    At same time pasta is cooking, season chicken breasts and pan fry/sautee in oil til cooked all the way through. Transfer to cutting board & chop.
    Also, warm alfredo sauce on stovetop or in microwave

    Drain pasta; do not rinse. Add pan drippings to alfredo sauce if desired.
    Place half the pasta in a baking dish. Sprinkle half a cup of parmesan cheese on the pasta. Add half the chopped chicken. Pour half the sauce over the chicken. Repeat the process, layering the pasta, parmesan, chicken, and sauce.

    Bake in oven at 350 F for 15-20 min.
    Broil a few minutes if a crispier casserole top is desired.
    Serve warm with salad or a side of your favorite vegetables.
