Ingredients

18 pieces
  1. 1 kgwheat flour
  2. 2medium sized carrot
  3. 2 cupswater
  4. Salt
  5. Cooking oil

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat 2 cups water add salt to taste to the water.
    Grate your carrots using the smaller part of your grater.

    Add the grated carrots to your warm salty water
    Pour the flour into a basin create a hole in the flour
    Pour in the warm water with carrots bit by bit to the hole and knead inwards.
    Knead till it forms a sticky firm dough

    Add 35mls cooking oil and continue kneading till oil is well incorporated into the dough.

    Cover your dough with a clean piece of cloth for at least 30mins
    As you prepare your source of heat and working surface

    For your chapatis to be in layers when cooked, you have to make dough balls which you'll use to roll your dough to circular small shapes.
    Spread flour on your working surface.
    Spread your dough on top of the flour.
    Make a big circle dough.
    Spread 2 tablespoon on top of the dough and spread evenly.
    Cut the dough into small strips
    Role each strip to make a roll.
    Place each role aside, ensuring that they don't get in touch with each other.

    The rolls should be like these ones.
    I'll share I tip on how to make the rolls.

    Cover your rolls with a clean piece of cloth.
    Let it rest for 10mins

    Pre heat your pan.
    Roll each roll into a neat circular shape.

    Bring roll to your preheated pan
    Cook both sides
    Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the top part of your chapati and spread evenly.
    Turn and do the same to the other part.
    Cook your chapatis under moderate heat so thag they don't burn

    Do the step 9 to each role.
    Till the last one,
    Ensure you have a serviet placed on the surface of your storage place to prevent the chapatis from being wet from the moisture.
    Cover with a lid so that they don't dry up.

    Serve hot 😋.
    With some nice stew
