1 cupsugar
1beaten egg
1/4 cupmolasses
2 cupsall-purpose flour
2 teaspoonsbaking soda
1/4 teaspoonsalt
1 teaspooncinnamon
3/4 teaspooncloves
3/4 teaspoonginger

Cream together the butter and sugar

Add the egg and molasses and beat together well

In a separate bowl sift and mix flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger.

Gradually add wets to dry mixture.

Form into walnut sized balls

Put them 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet

Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 9-10 minutes, until crinkly on top

Makes approximately 60 cookies

These are delicious. Size is everything with this recipe. Make them too big and they are flat and kind of smooshed looking. Next time I will keep that in mind. My first she came out great. My second sheet I guess I got in a hurry and made some that were just a little too big and they flattened out like pancakes. Oh well, they still taste good.
