Soak black chickpeas overnight, next day drain water and in a mixer jar and add soaked chickpeas, green chillies, finely chopped ginger, finely chopped garlic 🧄, 1 finely chopped onion🧅, finely chopped coriander leaves 🌿, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, coriander & cumin powder, salt 🧂 and grind, add 1-2 tbsp water if needed (don't add excess water).

Add mixed herbs, black pepper powder, red chillies powder 🌶️ and mix well, make equal size balls and shallow frying them until golden brown and keep aside.

For gravy : heat oil, add star anise, cloves,small cardamoms, black cardamom, cinnamon sticks, black pepper corns, cumin seeds, saute for 1 min, add finely chopped onions 🧅 cook till golden, add ginger garlic paste 🧄, saute for 1 min, add tomato puree 🍅, ready made tomato paste 🍅 and mix well, add spices: kashmiri red chillies powder 🌶️, coriander & cumin powder, turmeric powder and mix well, cook until oil comes out.

Add plain yogurt and green chillies paste and mix well, cook again for 5 mins, till oil comes out again finally add garam masala powder, salt and mix well, add water 💦 mix well, let it boil, boil for 10 mins, add fried chickpeas koftas and cook for 1 min, don't use spoon, the koftas will break and serve hot.

Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves 🌿.
