Bánh Chưng and Bánh Tét

A pot of bánh and the crackling sound of the fire bring so much happiness as we sit around the warm stove, listening to stories from the past. After a long time, we finally celebrated a traditional Tet far from home, wrapping the cakes together and staying up late to watch over them on New Year's Eve. I wish time could stop so we could enjoy this wonderful moment together.

Steps
- 1
Refer to the link for the bánh tét recipe and ingredients. Cut pork belly into thin slices, marinate, and briefly boil.
- 2
Make a square mold from cardboard to wrap bánh chưng. Some use the mold, while others wrap by hand like Mom. Even if the cakes aren't perfectly shaped, making both bánh tét and bánh chưng together is what matters most!
- 3
Place the cakes in the pot and cook over a lively fire.
- 4
On a cold night, stay up to watch the cakes until 3am, then take them out.
