Oh, How Easy! Country Style Oven Baked Apple Pie

I received a frozen puff pastry, so I made this simple apple pie. But since I don't really like mushy apples, I came up with a lightly baked apple pie that resembles the texture of baked apples.
When scoring the edges, be careful not to cut through the pastry. Just lightly glide the knife over the surface of the pastry. The amounts for the ingredients are approximate. It will turn out delicious without much precision, so give it a try. For 1 puff pastry worth. Recipe by SOL*

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare by thawing the frozen puff pastry for about 5 to 10 minutes. Bring 1/2 the amount of butter to room temperature or lightly microwave to soften. Core the apple and slice to 3 mm thickness.
- 2
Preheat the oven to 210°C for about 25 minutes. Use a knife to lightly mark the surface of the puff pastry about 1 cm around the entire sheet, then pierce the rest with a fork and spread on 1/2 of the softened butter, avoiding the edges.
- 3
Arrange the apple slices on top of the buttered pastry surface, then with sprinkle small pats of the remaining butter, sugar, and cinnamon powder. Bake in an oven for about 25 minutes while keeping your eye on it.
- 4
Once it finishes baking, brush the surface with apricot jam or honey to glaze. The edges that were created by marking the surface should puff up and have a nice and crispy texture.

About 20 years ago, I learned from an acquaintance that you can make apple pie without making the filling using raw apples. That was the start of this recipe. If you use raw apples as-is, they exude water, which makes the puff pastry soggy. Thus, after a lot of trial and error, I came to this recipe. The panko absorb the moisture that comes out of the apples. The butter adds richness. I use dried panko. Don't add too much water! For 4 pies; about 10 x 5 cm [3.9 x 2.0 in] each. Recipe by Banyangarden cookpad.japan -
