Rinse the rice thoroughly. Heat a pressure cooker on the stove, then add the ghee. Add the cumin seeds, cloves, bay leaves, and cardamom pods, and sauté for about 10 minutes until fragrant. Add the rice and stir to combine.

Add water—twice the amount of rice—and salt. Close the lid and cook for 3 whistles, as brown rice takes longer to cook.

Your brown jeera rice is ready. Serve hot with dal for a delicious meal.
