Ingredients

  • 6small bitter gourd/karela
  • 1onion cut in roundels
  • 3green chilli
  • Oil
  • Stuffing masala
  • 1 tspeach dhaniya powder, bhuna jeera powder, Aamchur, Chat powder, chilli powder
  • Salt & turmeric

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash the bitter gourds and make 4-part slits.

    Mix the dry masalas with little water to make a thick paste. Stuff the masala into the bitter gourds with the help of a small spoon.

    Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan, add the stuffed karela and cook in slow heat, with the lid, until karelas are tender and roasted from all sides.

  4. 4

    When almost done, add onion and chilli and let cook for another 5/7 mins. Serve with Rice/Roti/Paratha etc.
