This recipe is a really simple, cheap and easy, way to "cheat" making "creamed peas." 🤷‍♀️😄👌 It is also a great, semi- healthy "go-to" meal and/or snack. I mostly make it in the microwave, however, this can definitely be made on the stove. You also, could use fresh or frozen peas as well. I started doing this years ago, as a way to help my children go to sleep at night with the warm milk and also as a way to get them to eat more vegetables! 👏😎👍👍 This has saved me many times when I was low on groceries and needed a meal as well. It will also work fantastic as a side dish! #creamedpeas #cannedpeas #cannedvegetables #peasnmilk #peasandmilk #peas #peasinwarmmilk #warmmilkandpeas #CookEveryPart

Ingredients

5 mins
1-2 servings
  1. 1 (15 oz)can sweet peas
  2. 1/2-1 cupmilk
  3. 1/2-1 tbspbutter
  4. Dashsalt
  5. Dashpepper

Cooking Instructions

5 mins
  1. 1

First, cook your peas in the water from the can, in the microwave on high, for 3 minutes. Or if cooking on the stove until they're beginning to boil.

  2. 2

Next, drain the water from the peas, and gently mix in butter, salt, & pepper until butter is melted.

  3. 3

Lastly, add in your milk and it will be warmed just enough from the peas to eat immediately. Enjoy! (Occasionally, I do need to return it to the microwave for an additional 45 secs or so, usually if I overpour too much milk or simply desire it to be warmer! 😆👌)
