Hawaiian Style Garlic Shrimp

We eat this without fail on our yearly trips to Hawaii. The ones over there have a lot of garlic and are very oily, so I went easy on both. I bought various marinades and tried them out, but I think this version which can be made with easy to obtain ingredients is the closest to the original.
Just marinate! Anyone can make this easily.
You can use cheap shrimp like the black tiger variety.
Adjust the amount of garlic and black pepper to taste. For 2 servings. Recipe by Okirakushufu

Steps
- 1
Chop up the garlic. Peel the shrimp, and devein by making a shallow cut through the back side and washing in salted water to remove the digestive tract. Pat dry.
- 2
Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix together. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- 3
Put all the ingredients including the marinade into a pan over medium heat. Cook slowly, being careful not to let it burn, until it's done.
- 4
Enjoy while piping hot.
- 5
If you'd prefer it to be less salty, reduce the amount of salt.
