The creamy and delicious kali dal/dal makhani is not as difficult as it seems. Try out this recipe step by step and you definitely arrive at a beautiful looking yummy black dal.

Soak dal and rajma overnight or 6/7 hours. Wash couple of time under running water and boil for 6/7 whistles in pressure cooker.

In a pan add butter and ginger garlic paste, sauté till Masala is cooked.

Add tomato purée and red chilli powder, let everything cook for few minutes.

Now add the boiled dal into the masala and salt as per your taste. Cook in low-medium flame for 20/30 minutes.

When dal gets into a good consistency, add 2 tsp of butter, garam masala, along with crushed kasoori methi.

Last and the most important ingredient: fresh cream with milk to be added, give a nice mix and serve hot and yummy kali dal.
