Pomegranate Arils or Seeds that are Sun-dried hold a lot of importance in culinary terms. These are absolutely beautiful and incorporated into much delightful cooking by the chefs.
And nothing much complicated at all. All you need is a good amount of Sunlight in your home. Just spread them out in a tray on the terrace or the window sills whichever is convenient for you. Dry them for a good 4-5 days. Store them in clean and dry airtight containers after grinding them to a powder. Bright hot Summers are a must for this and when it is high time that we say bye to the Season, these goodies are a testimony to that efforts we put in. And finally we have them ready. Sun drying is a great option and technique to store many a goodies in June and that's why it is the Month of innumerable such delightful one's for me.

Many delightful barbeque preparations are incomplete without it. Kababs are a great treat with these Anardana especially the Chapli Kababs from Peshawar. This can also be used in various Chaats, Dahi Bhallas, Pakoras, etc.

The health benefits are also too many. They stabilize the Blood Sugar levels in the body. Helps in reducing Cholesterol too. Known as the Fruit of Paradise, it is indeed a refreshing boon. These are rich in antioxidants and also a rich source of Vitamins like C and K.

Enjoy No Cooking with Zeen!

  2. 2

Pomegranate kernels or arils are a bit sticky in nature even after drying. So there is absolutely no need to worry. And even while making a powder of it, it would be like coarsely crushed. That's the beauty of them. They add that perfect crunch and sourness to the dishes.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
