Chawal ke aate ke Badiyan or to put it in easy words, these are homemade Rice Crispies made with Rice flour that are dried under the direct Sunlight and used whenever desired by deep frying in enough Oil. An absolutely easy peasy homemade Fryums recipe that is a rage with our family. These go well with Rice and Daal, a pure bliss that can be enjoyed at any meal during our day.
The water used depends upon the quality of the Rice flour used. It is 1:2 ratio which means 2 cups of water for 1 cup of the flour.
That's it. Use water accordingly.

A perfect accompaniment to many an Indian meals, this is loved by all. It stays good upto a Year. It can be made in large quantities in Summers and can be relished throughout the Year.

Steps

25 minutes
  1. 1

Bring water to a rolling boil on a high heat at first. Stir in the flour with the other ingredients mentioned. Keep stirring and scraping continuously. It's a must.

  2. 2

Reduce the heat after you are done with adding the flour. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes more. That's it. Take it off the heat. As soon as you are able to handle it, start the process of making it.

  3. 3

Using a string hopper or a murukku maker, start making your choice of badiyan using the different attachments that come with it. I made long lines of them all along the plastic sheet. Sun dry them for 3-4 days. They will be crisp and perfectly dry in just a few days.

  4. 4

These can be dried under the fan too if you don't have access to direct sunlight. But still, if these can be dried under the sunlight at least for a day or two, it's absolutely good. After that these can be dried indoors. There would be no problem. Fry these in hot oil on a medium flame. Keep a maintained temperature. Enjoy!

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
