Take gram flour in a bowl. To it add salt, turmeric powder and chili powder. Add water and make a batter of medium consistency. Keep it aside for 15mins.

Finely grate carrot and cucumber. Squeeze grated cucumber and separate excess water.

Add grated ginger, finely chopped onion and chili into the batter and mix well.

In a nonstick tawa, add oil and spread. Switch on the burner and heat the tawa. When tawa is hot, reduce the flame. Add 2tbsp batter. Sprinkle some oil on the sides and over the batter. When one side becomes golden brown in color, flip it and cook the other side. One can prepare 3-4 chillas with 1/2 cup cup gram flour.

Remove the brown sides of sliced breads. Spread little butter over the bread slices. Mix 1tsp cheese spread with grated cucumber and 1tsp with grated carrot.

Spread cucumber cheese spread mixture on two bread slices and carrot cheese spread mixture on the other two. Sprinkle little salt and crushed pepper on the spreads. Place one chilla each on the bread with cucumber spread. Then cover the chillas with the other bread slices having carrot spreading. Keep the prepared sandwiches inside grilled toaster and cook for 3-4 minutes till light brown in color.

Collect the sandwiches on the serving plate and cut diagonally. Spread tomato sauce over it. It is ready to serve.
