Shrimp and Grits

Cooking Instructions

In a medium saucepan slowly bring the milk to a boil

Add salt.

Add the grits while stirring.

Bring the mixture back to a boil.

Reduce heat and cover.

Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring every 3 minutes to prevent lumps.

While the grits are simmering start the sauce for the shrimp

Melt Butter in a large Frying Pan.

Cook onion and pepper for 3 to 5 minutes until tender.

Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add tomato paste and fry for 3 minutes.

Add can of tomatoes, bullion and Cajun seasoning.

Heat mixture to starting to boil.

Add shrimp and cook until opaque.

Add cornstarch mixture while stirring to thicken the sauce.

Add Worcestershire sauce and stir in.

Add heavy cream and heat through. Do not boil.

Stir cheddar cheese into the grits.

Put serving of grits on center of plate. Top with shrimp and sauce. Serve immediately.
