This is a dish that was made in England for Upper class servants and Middle class people. It’s the best way to use stale breads. One can use Brown or White but I chose to make with brown breadcrumbs and serve with Wine sauce. It’s delicious!

For Pudding- In a bowl add brown breadcrumbs, salted butter, candied peel, mix well

Add treacle, sugar, wine and mix well.

Add egg yolks and whisk the egg whites well. Fold onto the pudding batter
- 4
Grease the pudding tin, pour the batter, cover with butter paper and steam for 1 hr
- 5
Wine sauce - in a bowl add water, apricot jam, castor sugar, lime juice and Sherry. Mix well.

Plate and garnish with cherrie dipped in brandy and enjoy 😊
