Cooking Instructions

90 minutes
  1. 1

Heat a stainless-steel frying pan and pour in the sugar. Once the sugar starting to melt add the water. Keep cooking and stirring the sugar until start becoming caramel. Once you see the sugar start having a brown color, remove the pan from the flames and keep stirring.

  2. 2

The pan is so hot that the sugar might burn if you do not remove it from the flames. If the sugar burns the caramel will have a bitter taste, therefore, it will have to be discarded.
Pour the caramel at the bottom of 8 custard cups.

  3. 3

In a cooking pot boil water.
    Pre-heat the oven at 400° F.

  4. 4

    CUSTARD
In a bowl mix the whole eggs, egg yolks, vanilla extract, and sugar.
Slowly pour the hot milk into the eggs stirring at the same time. Pour and strain the mixture into the 8 caramel custard cups.

  5. 5

In a deep baking pan, place the cups surrounded by hot water. Do not overfill with water.
Bake for about 45 minutes. The top of the custard should be firm. If you insert a toothpick into the custard should come out clean.

  6. 6

Once the custards are almost cold, run a small knife through the rims and invert it over serving dishes.
