These tiny red-coloured seeds are a powerhouse of nutrients like iron, folate, fibre, vitamins C, A, and E, and protein.
Since halim seeds are rich in protein and iron, and have galactogogue properties, they are extremely beneficial for lactating mothers. Galactogogues are foods that are used to induce, maintain and increase breast milk production from the mammary glands. Thus nursing mothers should definitely be encouraged to include halim seeds in their diets. Add halim seeds to the laddoo full of nuts and gond made for nursing mothers and enhance its properties.
The high levels of iron in Halim seeds promote the production of red blood cells and also helps in improving the haemoglobin levels in the body. In the long run they can help treat anaemia to some extent. After all, just a tablespoon of halim seeds offer 12 mg of iron.

  2. 2 cupmilk
  3. 1 tbschopped dry fruits
  4. 1 tbschopped fresh coconut
  5. 1 dropcardamom ginger and lemon grass essence
  6. 2 tspjaggery

    Dry roast garden cress seeds for 30 sec.and keep aside, boil milk side-by-side.

    When milk started boiling, add roasted garden cress seeds into it. And mix it continuesly.

    Add chopped nuts and chopped fresh coconut.

    Add cardamom ginger lemon grass essence put the flame on low then add jaggery powder, and mix it well.

    Cook it for while and serve it hot or cold.
