Ingredients

  1. 4nos drumsticks
  2. 1 cuptuver dal
  3. 2 tbspghee
  4. 1 tablespoonoil
  5. 1/2 teaspoonmustard, cumin seeds
  6. 1clove
  7. 1 pinchasafoetida
  8. 1 sprigcurry leaves
  9. 1green chili
  10. 1tomato chopped
  11. 1 tspraw mango chopped /tamarind pulp
  12. 1/2 teaspoonchili powder
  13. 1/2 teaspoonturmeric
  14. 1 teaspoonjaggery
  15. Salt to taste
  16. 1/4 teaspoongaram masala
  17. Chopped coriander leaves as required

Cooking Instructions

    First of all, boil Tuvar dal in a cooker. Cut the drumsticks into pieces and boil them until they rise in water.

    Take ghee and oil in a pan and heat it, then add mustard seeds, cumin, asafoetida, cloves. Then saute curry leaves, tomato and green chilies. Add turmeric and chili powder and mix it so that the color of dal is nice. Now add boiled dal and rest of the spices.

    Then add the drumsticks to the dal. And add raw mango pieces (instead of lemon,tamarind or kokum) and boil the dal for 5 to 7 minutes. So that the drumsticks will become soft. Add coriander and remove from heat.

    The Drumsticks Dal is ready to serve.
