How to Make Steamed Shrimp for Sushi

This is my method for making steamed shrimp for sushi. It's an easy extra dish for homemade sushi. Some of you might already know this, but I uploaded it as a personal note.
The origin of this recipe
I learned it from a friend who owns a restaurant. I uploaded it as something to add color when making sushi at home.

Steps
- 1
Remove the heads from the shrimp. Remove the legs and shells (it's easier to peel from the legs).
- 2
Use a skewer to remove the vein from the back of the shrimp, then insert the skewer along the back.
Kitchen scissors are handy for peeling the shrimp tails.
- 3
Bring water to a boil in a pot, add salt, and then add the skewered shrimp. Cook for about 1 minute, turning halfway through.
- 4
Turn off the heat and let sit for 30 seconds. Remove the shrimp.
- 5
As shown in the diagram, place the shrimp with the belly side up and cut with a knife, keeping the skewer in place while cutting.
- 6
It's ready.
