Ingredients

Makes 8 pieces using a Vitantonio taiyaki maker
  • 1/3 cupsweet rice flour (about 50g, mochiko is fine)
  • 1/3 cuptapioca flour (about 50g)
  • 3/4 cupall-purpose flour (about 100g)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoonssugar (about 20g)
  • 2 pinchessalt
  • 1 teaspoonbaking powder (about 5g)
  • 1/3 cupmilk (about 90ml)
  • scant 1/2 cup water (about 100ml)
  • as neededyour choice of filling,

Steps

  1. 1

    Preheat the taiyaki maker.

  2. 2

    Add all ingredients except the liquids to a bowl and whisk together. Add the milk and water, then mix until smooth.

    Brush the taiyaki mold with oil or nonstick spray. Pour in some batter, add your favorite filling, then cover with more batter. Close and cook for about 4 minutes.

    I tried making these with homemade custard filling!
