You don't have to touch the rice directly, so it's hygienic and easy to make. Just wrap them in plastic wrap and they're perfect for lunchboxes!

You don't have to touch the rice directly, so it's hygienic and easy to make. Just wrap them in plastic wrap and they're perfect for lunchboxes!

Steps

Place the rice on a piece of plastic wrap cut into a rectangle. (In the photo, I used boiled and flaked sashimi-grade salmon, whitebait, and seaweed, but you can use anything you like!)

Roll the rice up from the edge to form a thin log. It's easier if you twist and tighten just the left side of the wrap to hold it in place, leaving the other side open.

Twist the wrap at your desired size to form small balls, like making balloon art.

Unwrap the plastic wrap to reveal your rice balls, or you can gently push them out from the open end.
