Ingredients

  1. 800-1,000 gyams
  2. 1/2 stick(about 4 oz) butter
  3. 1/2 cupbrown sugar
  4. 2 tablespoonshoney
  5. Cinnamon sugar, to taste

    Here are the ingredients. Maple syrup can be used instead of honey for a delicious alternative.

    Choose yams that are heavy rather than thin ones.

    They look like sweet potatoes at first glance, but when peeled, they reveal a beautiful orange color. Cut them into 3/4-inch cubes.

    Melt the butter in a pot and dissolve the brown sugar in it.

    Place the yams in a casserole dish and coat them well with the butter and sugar mixture from step 4.

    Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 30 minutes.

    Remove from the oven and stir. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, then bake uncovered for another 20 minutes, checking occasionally.

    Finish by checking the softness with a skewer, being careful not to burn them.
