Score both sides of the block of konnyaku, and, using your hands, tear, or cut into bite-sized pieces with a spoon. Boil in hot water and skim any scum that may rise to the top.

Slice red chili pepper into thin rounds, and thinly slice garlic. Combine with the ● ingredients.

Heat oil and sauté the ☆ ingredients over low heat. Once it's aromatic, add the konnyaku and lightly sauté.

Add the ● ingredients, and simmer over medium-high heat until the liquid boils down completely. This should take about 5 to 10 minutes.
