Tonkatsu Sushi Rolls

I made sushi rolls out of leftover tonkatsu, and it was actually tasty.
Because I wanted to serve it with veggies, I added cabbage that's sweetened with honey mustard sauce.

You can omit the cabbage if it's too much trouble.
Please adjust the amount of rice if it's too much or not enough when you're rolling it up.
Serve as it is, or with soy sauce, mayonnaise, or any other sauce of your choice. For 2 whole rolls. Recipe by Kikka mama

Ingredients

  1. 1cutlet Tonkatsu pork cutlet
  2. 400 gramsHot cooked rice
  3. 2sheets Nori seaweed
  4. 200 gramsCabbage
  5. 1 tspSalt (to rub into the cabbage)
  6. 1Sauce
  7. 2 tbspHoney mustard sauce

Steps

    Cut the tonkatsu into four long stick and toss with the sauce. If you're using cold rice, microwave.

  2. 2

    Shred the cabbage and rub with salt until soft. Drain excess water, and combine with honey mustard sauce.

  3. 3

    On a sushi mat, place your nori sheet, half of the rice, half of the cabbage, and 2 sticks of tonkatsu. Roll it up tightly. Make two.

    Set it aside for a while before slicing. It could be troublesome, but if you clean your knife with a damp cloth each time you slice it, the cross-section will look nice.
