Ingredients

2 servings
  • 2servings cooked rice
  • 2 tablespoonsmayonnaise
  • 0.1 ounce(3 grams, 1 small packet) bonito flakes
  • 2eggs
  • as neededVegetable oil,
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons (50 ml)water
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons (50 ml)concentrated noodle soup base (mentsuyu, double strength)
  • 1 teaspoonpotato starch (katakuriko)
  • Grated ginger, to taste (optional)
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds, to taste (optional)

Steps

    Mix together the ingredients marked with ● (water, mentsuyu, potato starch, and optional ginger). In a separate bowl, combine the cooked rice with mayonnaise and bonito flakes.

    Heat a frying pan and add a little oil. Pour in half the beaten eggs for one serving. When the edges start to set, gently stir with chopsticks and spread the egg into a round shape.

  3. 3

    When the egg is still slightly runny, place half of the rice mixture in the center. Slide the omelet onto a plate, folding it over the rice as you go.

  4. 4

    Once both servings are prepared, pour the ● sauce mixture into the same pan. Cook until it thickens, then pour it over the omurice. Top with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
