Mix the marinade ingredients well in a bowl.

Place the American beef and half of the marinade in a freezer bag, ensuring both sides are well coated. Refrigerate for 6 hours to overnight.

Add mayonnaise to the remaining marinade to make a sauce, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate.

Remove the American beef from the marinade. Discard the marinade in the freezer bag.

Grill over medium heat using a two-zone fire (19-23 minutes for medium-rare).

Turn over as needed (be careful not to overcook). You can sprinkle salt to taste if desired.

Serve with the sauce on the side.
