Ingredients

Serves 2–3 servings
  1. 5.3 oz (150 g)konnyaku (cut into thin strips)
  2. 2 teaspoonssugar
  3. 1 tablespoonsake
  4. 1heaping tablespoon soy sauce
  5. 1 teaspoontoasted sesame oil
  6. 1 tablespoontoasted white sesame seeds

Steps

  1. 1

    Boil the konnyaku in hot water for about 3 minutes, then drain in a colander. Dry-roast the konnyaku in a skillet to remove excess moisture.

    Once the konnyaku is dry, add all the ingredients marked with ● (sugar, sake, soy sauce) and stir-fry over high heat. Stir constantly to prevent burning.

    When the liquid has evaporated, add the sesame oil and quickly mix everything together.

    Finish by adding the toasted white sesame seeds and mixing well. Done!

    This goes perfectly with rice and is ideal as a bento side dish. It's low in calories, so it's great for dieting too!
