In a large pot, add 8 1/2 cups water (2 liters) and bring to a boil. Add the cleaned chicken breast, 1 clove garlic, 1/2 onion, and salt. Cook for 40 minutes.

Once the chicken is cooked, cut it into cubes or shred it. Reserve the chicken broth.

In another pot, add the hominy with 8 1/2 cups water (2 liters). Add 1 small onion, 1 clove garlic, and oregano to taste. Cook.

After 30 minutes, remove the onion and garlic from the pot.

Pour the reserved chicken broth into the cooked hominy.

Blend 1/2 onion, 1 clove garlic, 1/2 teaspoon cumin, and a few kernels of the cooked hominy until smooth.

Strain the blended mixture and add it to the hominy. This will make the broth thicker and give it a white color.

Continue cooking for 10 more minutes to blend the flavors. Add the shredded chicken and adjust salt to taste.

Serve hot, steaming, and aromatic.
