Ingredients

Serves 2 servings
  • 2 packsfrozen udon noodles
  • 3.5 oz (100 g)thinly sliced pork (pork shoulder or pork for stir-fry)
  • 1/6 headspring cabbage
  • 1/3carrot
  • 1 bunchkomatsuna (or substitute with spinach or Swiss chard)
  • 1/2sweet onion (or regular onion)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoonsoyster sauce (A)
  • 1 tablespoonsoy sauce (A)
  • 1/2 tablespoonsake (A)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoonsesame oil
  • Aonori (dried seaweed flakes), as desired

Steps

    This recipe is especially delicious with high-quality pork. Look for pork with a pig logo for a tasty result!

    Microwave the frozen udon noodles for 2 minutes at 600W, then rinse with cold water to firm them up (or boil if you prefer).

    Roughly chop the cabbage and komatsuna. Cut the carrot into thin strips. Thinly slice the onion.

    If the pork pieces are large, cut them into bite-sized pieces.

    Heat a large skillet and add the sesame oil. Stir-fry the pork until it changes color, then add the vegetables. Cover and cook over medium to low heat for 5 minutes to steam.

    Remove the lid, add the A seasonings (oyster sauce, soy sauce, sake), then add the udon noodles. Stir well to combine and cook thoroughly.

    Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add aonori if you like.
