Fox nuts/Lotus seeds are commonly known as Makhana or phool makhana are popular as a fasting food. It's health benefits are superior of dry fruits such as walnuts and almonds. Makhana are good source of protein, magnesium, carbohydrates, fiber, potassium, phosphorus, iron and zinc. It is high in fiber and low in calories, so it enables weight loss.
People become more health conscious and they prefer healthy food. Makhanas are best option for healthy snacking and munching.
Today, I have prepared caramelised makhana.

Today, I have prepared caramelised makhana.
Steps

Dry roast makhana to remove moisture,if any. Then in the same pan add one ts ghee and roast makhana on a low flame. Then transfer them in a plate.

Now in the same pan add one tsp ghee, jaggery powder and one tbsp water and let it melt on a low flame.

Once it melts and starts bubbling ads makhana and mix well so each makhana coated well.

Then turn off the heat and spread them on a plate or a parchmenr paper and letit cool completely. Store it in an air tight container.

Enjoy when you wish.
