A rather quick recipe. It's basically a sponge cake with caramelized almonds on top. Note: I didn't name it.

A rather quick recipe. It's basically a sponge cake with caramelized almonds on top. Note: I didn't name it.

Start by making the sponge body. Preheat the oven at 200°C. Mix eggs with sugar and add melted butter and cream.

Add flour with baking powder (I recommend not to add all at once, whisk the dough between each of 2-3 doses)

Grease baking tray and pour the mixture in. Put it in the oven for 15 minutes. Get ready to prepare the topping, it shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes. Ideally you want to have the topping done when you take the sponge cake out.

On a frying pan, melt sugger with butter. Sugar tends to caramelize, which is good, but not necessary. Use medium heat at most to prevent burning the sugar.

Once the mixture is liquid, add cream and flour. Mix thoroughly, then add almonds and make sure they're covered in the mixture.

Once the sponge cake base is done, take it out of the oven and pour the mixture on top. Spread it evenly and put it back into the oven for another 10 minutes.
