Ingredients

  1. 1 cupMaida
  2. 3 tbspOil
  3. 1/2 tspAjwaine
  4. to tasteSalt
  5. as neededWater
  6. Gramlentil/chana dal 1cup
  7. 1Onion
  8. 2ToMatoes
  9. 1Green chilli
  10. 1 tspGinger garlic paste
  11. 4 tbspOil
  12. 1/2 tspMustard seeds
  13. Curry leaves few
  14. 1/2 tspCumin seeds
  15. to tasteSalt
  16. 1 tspRed chilli powder
  17. 1/4 tspTurmeric powder
  18. 1/2 tspGaram masala
  19. For serving
  20. Green chutney
  21. Boiledl aloo
  22. Tamarind chutney

Steps

  1. 1

    For pakwan take maida in a vessel add ajwaine salt 3tbsp oil and mix well

  2. 2

    Add water to it and make a dough

  3. 3

    Make small balls of dough roll it like chapati and deep fry it crisp in hot oil

  4. 4

    Soak chana dal in water for 30minuts

  5. 5

    After 30minuts heat oil in cooker add mustard seeds cumin seeds to it as it crakles add curry leaves and chopped onions to it

  6. 6

    When onion gets light brown add chopped tomatoes and cook

  7. 7

    Add salt red chilli powder turmeric powder garam masala and mix well

  8. 8

    Finally add soaked dal to it mix add 2cups of water close the lid of cooker give 4-5whistles then turn of the gas

  9. 9

    Open the cooker Mash dal with masher

  10. 10

    Place pakwan in A plate spread dal over it spread soMe boil potatoes green chutney tamarind chutney sev finely chopped onions salt redchilli powder and chat masala and serve

  11. 11

    Usually dal pakwan not served as chat pakwan is served with dal in a bowl and dal is seasoned with dry mango powder
