Wash & Soak the urad dal (ulutham paruppu) (Urad dal Black Gram/Vigna Mungo) for 4 to 5 hours

Drain all the water from soaked dal...
Grind the soaked dal to a smooth batter with little water if required.

Batter should look like fluffy & Soft

Transfer in to Bowl, add chopped onions, coriander leaves, curry leaves, pepper powder, salt...
Mix well together...

Now Batter is ready

Now, keep a bowl of water aside (to dip the hands in between) with banana leaves or transparent sheet

Take handful of batter and Form a round shape and make a hole in the center

Heat a oil in a Kadai (pan), on a medium flame and drop it gently...
Fry on both sides till it becomes golden brown

Remove the fried vadas & place it in a plate having a tissue paper to drain the excess oil

Ulundu Vadai is now ready to serve with Coconut Chutney
