I remember eating this snacks while growing up. When I saw the picture recently online, I knew I just have to make it. I checked the recipe and I nailed it! Mix the flour, salt, sugar, nutmeg and baking powder in a bowl. I added sugar to make it sweet.

Now add the oil and mix together

Gradually add the warm water and knead it for 7 minutes.

Cover the mixture and let it rest for 20-30 minutes.

Now cut and divide into small parts. With your rolling pin, roll and make it as thin as possible but not too thin so you can lift it up. That's what makes it chin chin flakes. If it is not thin, it becomes the normal chinchin.

Resist the urge to use magarine for this recipe. I already did and it wasn't crunchy.

Heat up oil and fry on both sides until golden brown. Fry on low to medium heat please.

You are done! Don't worry if it is soft as you scoop it out. It gets harder when cool. Just like chin chin.
