Peel and cut the taro into pieces, then steam them in a rice cooker. While hot, add sugar, salt, sweetened condensed milk, and butter, and mash into a taro paste.

While mashing the taro, gradually add milk and mix until smooth and creamy.

Once cooled, place the taro paste in a ziplock bag, flatten it, label with the date, and freeze. When you need taro filling for bread or buns, simply thaw and use.
