Ingredients

45 minutes
  • 1 1/2 cupmilk powder
  • 1/3 cupsugar
  • 1/4 cupwater
  • 2 tablespoonrose syrup
  • 1 teaspoonmelted ghee plus 1 teaspoon milk

  1. 1

    In a bowl add milk powder and add melted ghee and milk to it. Rub it in and press. Let it stand for 10 minutes. Crumble the milk powder until its sandy texture.

    In a pan add water and sugar. Bring it to boil and boil until 1 thread consistency.
    Add in the rose syrup and milk powder. Mix well and cook on low to medium heat while stirring continuously. Stir until it leaves the sides and forms a dough. (at this stage you can add 1 teaspoon of ghee to give it a glaze)

    Transfer in a bowl and let it cool. Once it is cold knead and make small balls. Make peda using a mould or by making small balls. Let it cool completely and enjoy.

Hi all, my name is Rekha. I am Indian by birth, born in Uganda, East Africa, I now live in Wilby, Northamptonshire/England.I retired at the age of 60 due to severe arthritis. I am married, a mother and grandmother.I learnt to cook from my parents at a very young age of seven. I started to cook simple dishes for the family and gradually learnt how to cook. My mum use to cook at our shop where we sold Indian sweets and savouries. I have learnt a lot from my mum. I started cooking fusion dishes and learning from others. My strong point is making sweet dishes and innovating new dishes. I can improvise and be creative in leftover dishes.I love being on Cookpad because I can share and learn new recipes. I have also made a lot of friends.
