This sweet is my all time favourite and I make sure that every Diwali, I'm preparing this. This recipe is without mawa.
Steps

Sieve besan and add milk and ghee. Mix it well. Cover it and keep it aside. Take sugar.

Add water, saffron and mix it well. Meanwhile take a heavy bottom pan. Add ghee. Sieve prepared besan. There should be rawa kind of structure. Add in ghee. Mix it well continuosly with patience.

Add one tbsp milk at a time. And continue to cook. Once it is golden colour switch off the flame. Continue to mix even after switching off flame.

Add nutmeg powder and cardamom powder in sugar syrup and keep it for boil. Once sugar is is thick, add syrup in roasted besan. Mix it well. Cook for some more time on low flame.

Pour this mixture in greased plate. Spread it evenly. Sprinkle with some nutts. Cut it on next day.

Tip - Give a overnight or minimum 8 hours rest. Don't be in hurry.
